Mbavu the Destroyer Loses Millions, Cars, Belt and High-Stakes Promises in Boxing Match Defeat

2 min read

Mbavu the Destroyer has recorded a significant loss following a highly publicized boxing match that had attracted widespread online attention.

Beyond the result in the ring, the outcome carried multiple financial and symbolic consequences tied to pre-fight stakes and public pledges.

Among the confirmed losses is KSh 3.5 million in cash, as well as a brand new Toyota Noah valued at approximately KSh 4 million. The championship belt associated with the match was also forfeited.

Additional stakes had been introduced by various public figures prior to the fight.

Businessman CEO Gatimu had placed a KSh 4 million motorbike on the line, with terms indicating permanent transfer upon defeat. Following the result, the motorbike is no longer in Mbavu’s possession.

Pastor Kanyari had committed KSh 100,000, while Alicia Kanini had publicly associated a 30-night sleepover arrangement with the match outcome. Both are considered void following the loss.

In addition, another participant had pledged KSh 1.2 million, a date, and access to a personal vehicle, all of which were contingent on victory and are therefore no longer applicable.

The match has since generated substantial online engagement, with reactions ranging from commentary and analysis to satire and critique.

While the result reflects a clear sporting defeat and associated losses, the event has maintained visibility across Kenyan digital platforms, positioning it as a widely discussed moment beyond the ring.

As much as Mbavu the Destroyer lost the fight, he won Kenyans’ hearts.
